== Lecture A6: The modeling algorithm

Background

In this lecture we summarize and show how the modeling algorithm can be described as a formal algorithm. We learn about formal concept analysis, and see how the derived formal concepts correspond to the syntactical classes from the conceptual schema.

Material In this lecture we focus on chapter 7 of the lecture notes.

Targets

After this study task you will be able to:

1. describe the notion of formal concept.
2. process the formal modeling algorithm.

What you have to do

• Read exercises 8 and 9 from the Collection of Elaborated Exercises.
• Make exercise 5 from chapter 6.
