== Lecture A4: ORC - a sample session

Background

Using the ORC language, we now will introduce some typical classes of frequently used constraints.

In the first two study tasks the central issue was finding the base linguistic structure for a language that is understandable both for the domain expert and the system analyst. In this task we learn how from these base sentence structures a complete semi-natural language is constructed. This language is referred to as ORC.

Background

In this lecture we focus on chapter 5 of the lecture notes.

Targets

After this study task you will be able to:

  • translate an information need, described in natural language, as an ORC information descriptor, in a structured way.
  • give a global overview of ORC.

What you have to do

Make exercises 3, 4 and 5 from the current chapter. (2h)

Reflection/Discussion

Besides the usual requirements for conceptual schemata, we especially focus on the recognition of object types that have are identified by a group of instances.
