Architecture and New Challenges/2012-13

Dear participant of this course in 2012, my apologies that due to the death of a near relative I failed to create clarity around the examination of this course. Let me explain again what has been explained in one of the introductory lectures of this course: You have to convince me that you have achieved the goals of this course, which means that you can use the conceptual framework to analyse problems, projects or existing artefacts by means of these concepts on the level of a master course. This cannot be done in a written examination of two hours, this can only be done while working on a suitable problem, project or artefact. Therefore there will not be a written examination. You have to write a document about your GiP project anyway. If while writing it you keep the goal of this course in mind, that document will be suitable to convinve me that you can handle the conceptual framework to assess and improve quality in this project. If you feel the document you have prepared will fail to do so, you are invited to provide a new version or an appendix or to suggest another way how you can convince me.

November the 9th: It is now time to discuss your projects.
I suggest the following way of working.
1. You study the course material (in English: Architecture and New Challenges/conceptual framework; in Dutch: the book) during this and the following week.
2. The non-Dutch-speaking participants are invited again, for the last time, to make an appointment for extra discussions in English. Please get into contact with each other and suggest some dates and times in the course of the week of 12 November.
3. With your project AND the course material in mind, ask yourself the questions on Architecture and New Challenges/architectural assessment (in Dutch: Appendix of the book).
4. Each project group sings in for half an hour discussion with me in the time table below. There, you explain your project along the lines of Architecture and New Challenges/architectural assessment.
